Nino Gurevich

Trio Somnia

Born in Tbilisi (Georgia) into a family of musicians, pianist Nino Gurevich is an excellent soloist and chamber musician on the international stage. She debuted with Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major KV 488, accompanied by the Georgian Symphony Orchestra at 9 years old. 

Already as a young girl, Nino participated in international and national competitions and has gained numerous awards and prizes for her extraordinary skills. For her outstanding performances she was awarded a scholarship of the international "New Names" programme for exceptionally gifted young musicians and a scholarship of the International Vladimir Spivakov Foundation. 

At the age of five she was accepted at the “Z. Paliashvili” Central Music School and began her studies with Professor Edisher Russishvili, with whom she stayed throughout her time at the school and later at the Tbilisi State Conservatory. After graduating with honours Nino went to Munich, Germany, to complete her pianistic education at Munich's “Hochschule für Musik und Theater” under the guidance of professor Elisso Wirssaladze. She was the winner of the “Musikhochschule München” Concerto Competition and graduated with special honours. Afterwards also with special honours Nino completed Meisterklasse „Liedgestaltung“ with professor Helmut Deutsch. 

Nino gave a number of performances at the "International Telavi Music Festival" (Georgia), at the "International Oleg Kagan Festival" in Kreuth (Germany), at the international "Ruhr Piano Festival" in Dortmund (Germany), at the Chopin Festival "Šopenijada" in Belgrade (Serbia); is regularly invited to the "Piano Summer Festival" in Vranje (Serbia), to the "European Music Workshop Altomünster" (Germany), to the "International Summer School" in Bad Reichenhall (Germany) and to many other festivals and masterclasses. She is a regular jury member at international competitions. Nino worked with many orchestras and distinguished conductors. She has made multiple recordings for Georgian Radio and Television. 

Nino Gurevich enjoys regular concert activity as a soloist as well as a chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia and USA, while holding a position at the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater" in Munich (Dozentur) as well as at the Leopold Mozart Center at the University of Augsburg. 

Her recent solo CD titled “the whole world disappears when...“ received great attention from the audiences. The music reviews describe Pianist Nino Gurevich as an extraordinary master of the instrument with a deeply introspective musical nature. 

Since 2019 she plays together with Nils Friedl (Violin) and Ionas Mercadal (Clarinet) in Trio Somni. Since then, Trio has won numerous first prizes at international competitions, recorded CD, and regularly gives concerts throughout Europe and USA.
